Default Tube advise

Hello Tubefreaks,

I'm new to this board, found it through a googlesearch for tube forums.
Why I'm posting is because I know hardly anything about tubes and their characteristics and such and have a slight problem. I own a rack with a Engl E530 preamp and a 830/50 poweramp. They are loaded with 12AX7 (preamp) and EL84 (poweramp) tubes. I can't say the sound is awesome. It's definatly good but not awesome and I know this gear should be able to achieve that.

I run them through a 412 cabinet loaded with Celestion V30's. What I want to improve on is to tighten up the lowend a bit and give it a bit more growl. Can it be achieved with a tubechange or do I just need to tweak around a bit more?

Cheers!

Hello Dundis and welcome to the forum. I don't know the answer to your question but others on the forum will, I'm sure.

Glad to have you aboard.
