Default Epiphone Blues Custom 30

Well lets see if anyones listening.
I just bought a Blues Custom 30 amp.
Here is a link that describes it better than I can, with good pictures.
Epiphone Musical Instruments - News
This amp is everything it says it is. Any of the larger stores for around $500.
Great tube tone. And I love the 15 Watt class A side. Either clean, warm and creamy on channel 1 or channel 2 for more distortion it sounds great. On the first channel it will break up naturally using the bridge humbucker and still not blow down the house. When using the neck humbucker its so warm and BB King smooth. The 30 watt A/B has more headroom and more guts but still not over the top power. Having two 12" speakers really makes it sound full. I traded my Crate vintage club 30 and 50 for this amp and am really glad I did. Check one out I think you will be very surprised at how well they are built. Very solid. I rebuilt parts of my VC30 & VC50 with 11-ply birch plywood and it makes for a very solid cabinet. When the cabinet is solid the bass notes are tight and don't vibrate the whole box. Fan is only noticeable when you are listening for it close buy. I upgraded the power cord to AWG 14-3. Someone on Harmony Central said it would make a difference and I think it did, a little. Much nicer heavier cord.
I've only had the amp about two weeks and am still learning the controls an sounds it can put out but am really, really happy with my purchase.

Cool : ) I'm hearing a lot of great things about Epiphone's new tube amps––and you certainly can't argue with the price... if the Class A side sounds good then I think you're getting a heck of a bargain––a boutique Class A could set you back four times as much.

Nice buy, and I hope it gives you years of great tone!

I will have to hear one of these, they look great. When you say you traded in a vc30 - do you mean the Crate V 3112 Combo with the GrooveTubes and Tone Tubby speaker? If this amp outperfroms that, then I really want one.

Default Vintage Club VC3112

I had the older version. Same amp but Eminence speaker. I really enjoyed the amp. I also had the VC5212. It had two 12" speakers and 50 watts. Also very nice but neither one was anything like the Epiphone Blues custom 30. Here are a couple of pictures of it. I didn't take them but they show some of the build quality.

Default Epiphone BC30 Mods?

Other websites have suggested the possibility of modding the BC30 with EL34 valves/tubes. Anyone tried this yet?
