Default Hello everyone! (1st post & an amp question)

Stumbled onto this fine forum via google. Glad to be here!

*Disclaimer* Pardon my ignorance, just got my first guitar.

If I had a tube head, lets say a Peavey VTM-120, could I use the speaker(s) in a combo amp, sucha as an old Crate 1x12 or 2x12 as an external cab? If the combo amp is not powered up would this work, albeit a "ghetto" setup?

Thanks in advance.

With the right wiring, it should work (power amp out of the head, direct to the speaker terminals). You might want to run them in parallel (for 2 x 12). I wouldn't crank it too much.
