Default Headphone amp

Hi All,

I need to tune down the practice volumes so I have decided to pick up a headphone amp for my guitar. I have the search down to two. The Pod and the Pocket Rock-it V2.

The Pod seems to do everything you could possibly image AND allow you to use headphones,

and the Rock-it V2 is small so it fits in my case, the description sounds functional.

Does anyone have opinions or experiences they can share about either/both?

Thanks

Willie

I have never tried the Rock-it, but I have a few Pods...(xt & xt Live, for backup), and they are fantastic for practicing....simply for the computer based editing, recording, online lessons, downloadable tones, etc. that Line6 has online.

Willie...I think you've hit the nail on the head already. These are two totally different products. The POD can be used for practicing with your headphones, and much, much more (use as an effects unit with your amp, plug in direct for recording). The Pocket Rock-it, while actually having lots of features and effects built in, is really just for practice and won't sound anywhere near as good as the POD.

Of course, price makes a difference, too. You can pick up the V2 for $80 at MF, way cheaper than the POD. That new Pocket Pod looks cool, though. That's only $130. Also, it's probably small enough to fit in your case!

It is not one of the ones that you mentioned, but I recently searched for a simple, clear headphone amp with great tone but not too many bells and whistles. I found the Earwig, available from EA TECH DESIGN

You've probably made you choice already, so here my 2 cents for no particular reason. I love my little Roland Micro-Cube - very very flexible, easy to dial in, and inexpensive. Use the headphone out and rock away without waking the neighborhood. I also use it to overdub or add fills, etc, direct into Sonar Home Studio.

Default cube

there is a small really cool amp called the cube that has effects and a headphone jack and it rocks ,some of my buds use it as a preamp believe it or not..less than 120.00 buckaroos too.
