Default Jaguar HH Pickups

Just seeing if anyone is familiar with this problem. The pickups in the Jag hh seem to be mounted weird and the screws either side of the pickups become loose, eventually causing them to sink inwards. Any ideas if this problem can be solved??

What I have seen on cheaper guitars especially, is the mounting hardware can be very cheap. The screws are cheap and soft as well as the metal brackets that the screws go into. Two or three adjustments and the holes are stripped out. There may not even be any tubing or springs on the screws as there should be.

Go to Lowes and get good bolts just slightly larger than the ones that are in there and matching nuts. If you want to be exact about it, get a die threader for the size bolt you are using and gently run it through the holes on the pickup mounting tabs; make it easier to run the new slightly larger bolts through the holes.

Now, make sure there is springs or soft surgical tubing just large enough to fit around the bolts you are using. Make the bolts as long as possible without hitting the bottom of the hole. Put it all together and you have your pickups mounted quite nicely. The long bolts will let you run the pickup height up as high as you like or as low as you like without the nuts falling off the bolts.

Had to do this on two new cheapo guitars and it works great. Takes twenty minutes, mostly just being careful not to scratch the guitar. You may be able to just loosen the strings to do it but probably, you will have to take them off. Hope it helps.

Dobbsy, just stopped by your myspace page and I enjoyed listening to "Broken Inside." I like the contrast between the clean, almost Rick sounding guitars and the strong rhythm and intense vocals. Very cool song.

Cheers Badger, it's always nice to get some feedback, thats really cool of you.
It's a track off of the demo we did back last year. I can't stand listening to the old tracks now, cannot wait to get into the studio and get some new things down haha.
Got rid of the guitar that was used on that track (Fat Strat) and replaced it with the HH. Wish I could have kept it as well. Never mind eh.
