Default SG sound with a Fat Strat

Hey , anybody have any ideas on pickup -selection in order to achieve that overdriven sg sound.
Was considering sticking some gibson 57 classics in my fat strat and was wondering if this would do the trick and would it be compatible?

One thing that is very different among Humbucker & Single coil combinations is that the impedance on the single coil is usually less, so you'll either have one over powering the other or a decrease in output when mixed together. Fender and other manufacturers usually put a resistor in place when they are mixed (you may already have the resistor installed if its a stock fat strat. Or you can just choose not to blend them.

I'm of the other camp, I prefer the twang of a single coil in the bridge position and the fatness of a humbucker in the neck....particularly on a tele. On strats, I like to blend the 1-3 and 3-5 positions for cool rhythm and blues/funk tones with all single coils.

If you have money to burn check out Bare Knuckle pickups. They are very pricey right now for Americans. Tim will hand make you a matched HSS set to suit your needs.

A matched HSS set from Bare Knuckles will cost you around 165 British. Which equates to around $330 USD. You can contact Tim at +44 (0)1326 341313 or through his website Bare Knuckle Pickups, North Devon, UK - Hand Wound Guitar Pickups These are hand wound pickups. They are the best pickups you'll ever find. In my opinion. Well worth the money and the wait.
