Exclamation Show Us Your Gear! :: Please Read Rules Before Posting...

Feel free to show off pictures of your beloved guitars in this thread––stomp-boxes, amplifiers, and other guitar-related gear are welcome as well.

All we ask is that you follow these basic rules:

1. Please only post your own photos––pics from websites or other materials under copyright are strictly prohibited.

2. Please keep photos to 500px wide or smaller. Max size per attachment is 50k, so you'll probably need some compression. Max size for all attachments in a post is 200k.

That's it... have fun! And if you don't follow the rules, well, don't be surprised if your post is removed

Default My Vintage Guitars

Hey Cary, here's my collection, for what it's worth...

Jasmine acoustic bass by Takamine (great tone with long neck.)
'75 Alvarez acoustic (nice blonde finish, great sound.)
Squire Prescision copy electric bass (with a Jazz neck & custom pickguard.) I have since transferred ownership to my brother David.

I have another bass, a Goya hollow body, that's on loan from a buddy of mine. Great guitar, with a nice feel and a warm tone. I'll see if I can't find a picture of it later. - Mike@CybersMusic.com

Hey, thanks for posting your photos Mike Like all good Indie music fans of the '80s I came really close to owning one of those Takamine acoustic basses back in the day, but somehow it fell through... blame it on Brian Ritchie of Violent Femmes.

Hey all, first post here and I figured I'd start by showing my gear.

Given that I don't play professionally at all I don't have a ton of stuff, just a little 15watt Peavy amp and the Epiphone Les Paul Ltd. Edition below. I tend to do most of my playing plugged into the computer (through Guitar Tracks 3 pro and Guitar rig 2), so that little Peavy doesn't see much action.

I've also got an incredibly crappy Samick "Strat" I picked up for $40 as a project guitar awhile back. I dismantled it and fixed it up about as well as is possible, but it's still a pretty miserable axe.

I'm seriously considering trading the Epi for a real Strat of some kind, but that's all still up in the air.

Nice forum you have here!

datter

EDIT: I just noticed the request for 400x400 photos... which mine obviously aren't. I'll resize them and update in a few minutes. Great start here... breaking the rules already.

EDIT2: There, all fixed.

Default Reissue 1957 Les Paul Custom

Just for you Cary, here's the re-issue 1957 Custom Faded Cherry Les Paul as she hangs so elegantly on our Wall-O-Axes. More to come, I promise.

Default All original Gibson Les Paul 25/50 (1978)

I came across this gem at a small shop called "Action Music" in Arlington, VA. Some really good guys work there and I frequent the place searching for treasures. \m/

They're both freakin' gorgeous... what more can I say? That 25/50 is just an insanely great find. I'll try to post a photo of my '59 Guild Archtop this evening.

OK, not the greatest picture, but here's one of my guitars, a vintage '59 Guild Archtop––serial number 11373. Most likely a Starfire I or II model, though I've never seen a perfect match in photos, and Guild's own records unfortunately don't cross-reference serial numbers with actual models for guitars built before 1960.

Bought it at a pawn shop for $700 about ten years ago. Replaced bridge and nut to make it play better, but of course I still own the original parts as well.

Datter, I love the finish on that LP.

Here's my stuff

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Honeyburst
EMG 81/85 Pickups (Zakk Wylde set)
Spider II 120 Amp
Yamaha Acoustic

When I bought the LP I was going to get the standard Jimmy Page Cherry finish, but then I picked up this one and it just played amazing, plus it was a lot lighter than the rest somehow. I had the EMGs put in about a year after I bought it.

The acoustic is sort of crappy now, it is showing it's age and build quality. It is the guitar I learned on so it has a bit of sentimental value. I do plan on getting a better quality acoustic with a cutaway sometime in the future.

I also have a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone pedal and a Hendrix wah, but I don't usually use either.
