What this really means is that Gibson has taken over TC Group. I've heard interesting things about Gibson's business practices and aggressive legal tactics. Other than buying a guitar from them, I probably wouldn't want to do business with them.

As a matter of fact I was once told that the joke around Nashville is...the only reason to go to work for Gibson is if you want to move to Nashville, cuz you'll only work there for a year. Supposedly, at trade shows the booths of all the other manufacturers are "littered" with ex-Gibson employees. Apparently a very difficult place to work.

But...you have to admit there is only one Gibson.

True....there is only one Gibson. And if I afford it, I'd buy a used one from the 60's!

I know some people who work at Taylor, and they absolutely love it.....It's nice to know that people who work their "love" their job. Everyone is personal friends with Bob Taylor. I think my "next" guitar is going to be another Taylor....either one of their new electrics or a 110e Acoustic "beater" with the good electronics. I've been doing a lot of acoustic shows lately, and I'd rather beat up an inexpensive good sounding/playing Taylor than take chances with my vintage Larivee. I think Taylor makes the best feeling necks in the business. Last week we were in Denver and spent an hour in the acoustic room at GC. My buddy and I compared all kinds of high end acoustics with the relatively inexpensive 114e Auditorium (as low as $600), and both acoustically and electrically it sounded better than even other Taylors, Martins, and Gibsons....you'd have to spend $2500+ to get a better sounding guitar. I didn't get the 114e because I want the dreadnought shape of the 110e that they didn't have at that store...I already have a 110 (non-electric....bought for $450), and I love it...now I'd like to have a 110e for the road. I haven't taken the time to play their new electrics, but judging by the reviews I've read, they are great instruments and also an excellent value.
